The existing detached house on this beautiful large site had been extended many times over the years. The resultant interior layout became such that it was no longer usable for this large family. Rooms were accessed from passing through rooms and the growing children were desperately in need of their own space.

The interior was completely gutted, opened up and reconfigured to work for this family. The attic was converted with dormer windows to the rear and a mud-room with a wet room adjacent added to the family entrance at the front of the house. Light now fills the interior of this house and solar panels heat the large water demand.  Each person now has their own “space” to call their own and they all share the lovely communal spaces. The children all have their own bedrooms with study areas and built-in wardrobes.

Exterior spaces were reworked to create a sheltered patio and outdoor dining area.
